Did you know Wells was once covered by ancient oceans? Travel back millions of years at The Wells Outlier! Join Don Williams—a prominent Adirondack historian, author, retired educator from Gloversville, and widely regarded as a "living Adirondack legend"—at the Wells Historical Society Museum on Saturday, August 8th at 3 PM.

Discover how Wells was once submerged beneath ancient seas. As the waters receded, they left behind a remarkable record of ancient sea life preserved in the shale—fossils that can still be found along our local rivers and streams today.

See actual fossils collected in Wells, explore the Museum's newest exhibit, and uncover the fascinating geologic history of our region. It's a fun and educational adventure for the whole family!
